Optical Metrology Engineer, Optical Metrology
Join Amazon Lab126, a dynamic research and development company known for designing cutting-edge consumer electronics such as Kindle, Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Amazon Echo. We're seeking a skilled Display Optical Metrology Engineer to leads measurement, test, and evaluation of optical components, systems, and algorithms throughout Amazon's product development process. In this role, you'll collaborate with a diverse team to drive the conception, design, and optimization of display components, quantifying and validating high quality end user experiences. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

Key job responsibilities
* You will guide the architecture, design, development, qualification, and implementation of optical measurement solutions for product components and devices, such as displays, light sources, LEDs, and diffusers.
* Able to carry out fundamental technology investigations of complex optical modules to define internal and external customer specifications for mass production.
* Design and develop optical metrology systems for characterizing display technologies, defining lab and in-line workflows and standard operating procedures.
* Deploy data mining and analysis tools to correlate performance metrics with end user experience, providing insights to guide the engineering team’s development and product quality control.
* Utilize expertise in algorithm design, advanced machine learning, and programming of electro-optical hardware to drive innovation in display technology.
* Use a deep understanding of Customer Experience (CX) and User Experience (UX) principles to design experiments and conduct user studies for component and design qualification.
* Apply advanced color science principles to simulate and model optical performance, demonstrating accurate representations through simulation by by empirical validation.

Our team is dedicated to designing and integrating display modules for Kindle and Echo devices. We work collaboratively to meet end product requirements, investigating various display modules, integrating sub-components from vendors, and testing performance across optical, electrical, mechanical, and process capabilities.
