Job Title: Optical Technician Job Description As an Optical Lab Technician, you will collaborate closely with engineers and scientists in the development of optical, opto-mechanical, and opto-electrical systems, sub-systems, and components for various products. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Responsibilities + Fabricate, assemble, align, and test optical, opto-electrical, and opto-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems. + Operate various optical instruments. + Manage lab and shop materials and supplies, ensuring lab and shop readiness. + Provide feedback on assembly and test processes, and assist in refining procedures. Essential Skills + Experience with optical engineering, calibration, and assembly. + Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting. + Experience with metrology instruments. + Technical school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience. + Proficiency with basic computer skills, including MS Word and Excel. + Strong basic math skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working with optical components, including cleaning, cutting, aligning, and measuring. + Ability to test and measure components, with a hands-on approach. + Ability to work independently and handle ambiguity, developing processes without a specific SOP. + Capability to provide feedback and refine processes in collaboration with engineers. Work Environment This position requires working onsite in Oceanside, CA in a clean room environment where you will be required to wear a bunny suit.
