Job Title: Optical Technician
Job Description

As an Optical Lab Technician, you will work closely with engineers and scientists contributing to the development of optical, opto-mechanical, and opto-electrical systems, sub-systems, and components for various products. You must be organized and detail-oriented.

ResponsibilitiesFabricate, assemble, align, and test optical, opto-electrical, and opto-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems.Operate various optical instruments.Manage lab/shop materials and supplies and maintain lab/shop readiness.Provide feedback on assembly and test processes and help refine procedures.Essential SkillsExperience with optical assembly, optical engineering, and calibration.Proficiency in assembly, NPI, and prototype assembly.Electrical troubleshooting skills.Experience with metrology instruments.Technical school or equivalent with 3+ years of experience.Experience working with optical components, including cleaning, cutting, aligning, and measuring.Proficient with basic computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.Proficient with basic math skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with optical components is helpful but not required.Ability to test and measure and be hands-on.Ability to handle ambiguity and work independently without a specific SOP.Willingness to be trained on equipment and help develop processes.Experience working with engineers to provide feedback and refine processes.Work Environment

Working onsite in Oceanside. The job requires working in a clean room environment and wearing a bunny suit.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
