About the role
Our Boots Opticians are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst - Financial Accounting to join our Financial Control team. You will support the Finance Manager – Financial Accounting in ensuring the Opticians business has an effective financial management and control process, a robust month end process and has a credible platform to facilitate decision making.
This is a multi-faceted role which allows you to use and develop your technical accounting knowledge, analytical mind-set and business partnering capability. In this role you will:
Coordinate and manage the department through the month end financial close, including driving the completion by others of the balance sheet reconciliations and control sign off process
Assist with group reporting of actuals for the month into the group consolidation system (COGNOS)
Responsible for intercompany processes & agreement of month end balances for Boots Opticians to ensure accurate monthly reporting
Apply your technical accounting knowledge, working alongside the Finance Manager to implement any changes in accounting standards or new business initiatives
Preparation of the statutory accounts for 3 legal entities
Coordination of the external audit process including management of day-to-day requests and data submission to auditors
Support the Group Tax function by gathering information for Corporation Tax & PSA
Collation of data & information for Group policy insurance renewal
Responsibility for support office cost centres, including ownership of the cost budget/forecast process in this area
Maintenance and improvement of financial controls across various finance processes
Work closely with the Genpact R2R team to ensure all tasks are accurately completed on time
Ad hoc projects as required
