Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for an Optometrist to support the Clinton/El Reno/Watonga Indian Health Center. The Clinton Service Unit (CSU) – Clinton & El Reno Indian Health Center (C/E IHCs) Indian Health Services (IHS) has a need for Optometrist Services. Contracted Optometrist are necessary to support and supplement health care within the Joint Commission accredited CSU facilities. Responsibilities Work will be performed at two locations, the Clinton and El Reno clinics with 2 days at one site and 3 days at the other site. Provide 40 hours per week of clinical hours. Number of patients to be seen shall be no less than an estimated 20 per eight (8) hour work day. Provide comprehensive Optometry care utilizing the Indian Health Service supplied facilities, equipment and support services. Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans and recommendations for patients seen. Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchased Referred Care vendors within appropriate IHS guidelines. Capable of responding to rapidly changing and unexpected needs for temporary coverage within a service unit. Advise the Clinical Director of designated representative of any problems encountered, in connection with meeting the patient care needs. Participate in quality assurance activities that ensure quality patient care as well as efficient use of hospital resources. These activities may include chart review and discussion with the Clinical Director of his designee. Develop a working understanding of the Joint Commission standards, the Centers for Disease Control guidelines and Association of Infection Control guidelines. Complete all required administrative paperwork within 24- hours of patient visit to include electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences and peer review, as required. Provide consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department heath care providers on an as needed basis. Provide Optometry services and staff urgent care clinic, as needed at El Reno and Clinton locations. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Doctorate of Optometry. Optometrist shall be Board Certified in Optometry. Optometrist shall apply and be accepted as clinical/hospital associate member of on-site Medical Staff. Provide copy of documentation of Basic Life Support (BLS). Provide documentation of and maintain current professional liability insurance coverage in the amount of $1 million per occurrence $3 million aggregate per provider. Hold and maintain proper licensure at all times and provide copy of license & credentials. Rubella immunity must be documented either by serologic test or proof of immunization. A yearly PPD is required for all persons who have had no previous positive tuberculin skin test. A series of three (3) Hepatitis B immunizations or serologic proof of past infection is required. A yearly influenza vaccination. COVID-19 vaccination and necessary boosters to maintain vaccinated status. Proficient with MS Office Suite. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: May be required to work after hours and weekend clinic to meet the needs of the communities we serve. Provide Optometry services and staff urgent care clinic, as needed at El Reno and Clinton locations. Proficient in electronically documenting services utilizing the appropriate electronic medical record system for patient encounters; complete all required administrative paperwork within 24- hours of patient visit to include electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences and peer review, as required.
