About San Ramon Family Optometry

San Ramon Family Optometry was established in 1989 and purchased by Dr. Doris H. Wong, O.D., in 2016. For over 30 years, this practice has provided full-service optometry to families and residents in San Ramon, Danville, Dublin, and the East Bay region of all ages, insurances, and visual and medical diagnoses. The dedicated Optometric team provides comprehensive eye care and specializes in contact lenses, dry eye treatment, myopia management, ocular diseases, and surgical co-management. Centrally located in The Market Place Shopping Center, the practice is easily accessible from I-680, I-580 and within walking distance to a stunning new city center. To support the practice’s continued growth and maintain the gold-standard service that San Ramon Family Optometry patients know and expect, Dr. Wong is looking to add a provider to the highly-trained staff of nineteen employees and five providers.  

This private practice is fully suited with state-of-the-art optical exam technology that includes an Optomap Digital Retinal Imaging System, optical coherence tomography, a topographer that measures axial length, Neurolens, macular risk lab test, and specialized examination tests for computer users. The office is currently remodeling, with automated phoropters being added to each exam lane. In addition, every exam room will have an updated slit lamp with photo and video recording capabilities. All this being done to improve communication with patients and to enhance the patient experience. Using cloud-based software, this office operates in a paperless environment that enables electronic medical records charting from anywhere. Online appointment scheduling and office communications are offered via text messaging. Patients can enjoy a family-friendly shopping experience as they browse a wide selection of eyewear from the optical boutique—plus, the practice carries over 1000 frames, and an onsite finishing laboratory is ready to conveniently service patients.  

About the Optometrist Opening

San Ramon Family Optometry is seeking an Optometrist passionate about providing personalized and individualized care to ensure excellent eye health and vision care for all patients. In this role, you will provide full-scope optometry including in-depth eye exams; diagnosing and treating eye conditions; prescribing glasses; prescribing specialty contact lenses; and refer patients to other specialists for medically necessary cases. This is a unique opportunity for you to see a wide variety of patients and conditions.

The current office hours are 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on alternating Saturdays. The position will be a part-time or full-time position! This practice is expanding and has the flexibility to add an additional part-time or full-time provider. A candidate with additional education, experience, and certifications or looking to explore special interests to expand the patient base will be a complimentary addition to the practice. For the right candidate, a future partnership opportunity may be available.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion for patient health and safety. The ideal candidate will want to continuously develop skills through mentorship with experienced doctors and be willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.
