Description:St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Materials Manager to join our OR!

Schedule: Full time

The Operating Room Material Manager is accountable for surgical supply operations, surgical supply staff management, equipment, and instrument procurement for Surgical Services.  Duties include staff selection, evaluation, scheduling, and training.  Also includes budget compliance, accuracy of patient charges and process improvement activities of the Supply Chain Department. 

Seeks and maintains knowledge base related to surgical equipment, instrumentation, and supplies. Conduct meetings, obtain quotes, communicates directly with vendors as needed.

Maintains adequate par levels of stock and non-stock supplies in selected storage location, assesses needs in conjunction with fluctuations in scheduling. Active lead in daily OR Leadership Team huddle to plan for upcoming surgical needs.

Develops, implements and maintains computerized and manual systems, for controlling OR, SPD and Endoscopy inventory, tissue and implant logs. Maintains regulatory requirements of such.

Manages OR Inventory Control Clerks hiring, performance feedback, annual evaluations, ensuring mandatory education compliance etc.

Initiates new supplies into and maintains CDM for surgery and anesthesia. Proactive approach to fiscal responsibilities.

Develops and maintains computer expertise necessary to facilitate use of various systems used within multiple departments.

Reviews inventory for deletion of obsolete supplies and equipment. Ensures said inventory is accounted for and disposed of properly as per policy.

Identifies and communicates billing issues with finance and OR Leadership

Consults with other team members to improve physician preference cards in order to promote efficient care delivery within the OR and Endoscopy unit.

Manages consignment inventory, assist with contract compliance along with the departmental director.

Experience:

Bachelor's Degree preferred

minimum of 2-4 years related experience, 5-8 preferred

RN, CMRP, CNOR, or Certified OR Technician preferred
