The OR Materials Supervisor is responsible for supervising the OR Supply Technicians and ensuring appropriate par and inventory management activities are maintained at all storage locations to support Perioperative Services. Coordinates and maintains a variety of non-clinical and ancillary services in support of nursing services to maintain the efficiency and quality of unit operations.
**Job Description:**
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and maintain supply and inventory management activities for Perioperative Services including, but not limited to, par management, Perioperative inventory, direct patient supply requirements, clerical support and related unit-support functions. (essential)
2. Monitor inventories and supplies; creates par levels, coordinates routine procurement and stocking activities provided to the unit; analyzes usage patterns of supplies and recommends optimal par levels. Manage an inventory across two campuses valued in excess of $1,000,000. (essential)
3. Requisition supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services; ensure that maintenance and repair needs are met; track and document lost or damaged equipment and supplies. (essential)
4. Provide direct supervision, orientation, continuing education, and evaluation to the supply technician staff. Responsible for ensuring the consistency and continuity of department operations and services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. On call 24/7. (essential)
5. Works with the OR Buyers to ensure that all invoice discrepancies and outstanding patient charges are resolved in a timely manner. (essential)
6. Coordinates annual inventory process across both campuses. Conducts monthly cycle counts. (essential)
7. Serves as liaison to IS Supply Chain support staff, Accounts Payable, Contracting, Perioperative Systems Analyst, and Perioperative Leadership. (essential)
8. Collect and analyze data related to unit operational activities as directed by OR Materials Manager or Perioperative Business Director to include, but not limited to, personnel records, work hours reports, overtime reports, budget and expense reports; identify trends and recommends corrective actions. (essential)
9. Prepare a variety of reports, memos, correspondence and related documents as required; maintain unit files and distribute documents as appropriate. (essential)
10. Has the authority to direct and support employees daily work activities. Has authority to undertake or recommend the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews. Direct Reports: More than 7 Indirect Reports: None
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Identify and facilitate resolution of unit operational problems independently; confer with supervisor or nursing management to resolve more complex problems. Participate in strategic redesign.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. 5-8 years related work experience required and 0-1 years supervisory/management experience required
3. Comprehensive knowledge of Perioperative Inventory management activities. Thorough understanding of invoicing, purchasing, and receiving operations.
4. Knowledge of Materials Management Information systems. Strong analytical skills and familiarity with procurement and payable systems, either with ESI or PeopleSoft experience.
5. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to be proactive and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, customer service skills and judgement. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
6. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in healthcare setting.
2. Mobile device management experience.

1. Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermittent breaks during the work day do not compromise the work.
