Position Purpose: The Nurse Educator develops, implements, and evaluates education programs that promote the retention of associates as well as developing and providing continuing education of staff. Must accommodate multiple priorities reflecting the short and long-term goals and objectives of Holy Cross Hospital. Coordinates staff education in both PACU/Pre-Op and OR in the areas of knowledge base, advanced theory and skills development as required. Mentors staff in professional growth and development.

What you will do:

*Responsible for ongoing development of assigned personnel and departmental specific educational programs

*Organizes and coordinates departmental/unit-based orientation to new associates.

*Incorporates professional organization Standards and Recommended Guidelines in all

areas of responsibility

*Research teaching resources, designs, develops, obtains audio-visuals and other aids.

*Assumes responsibility for own growth and continuing education

Minimum Qualifications:

* Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

*Prefer education background and at least 3-4 years of previous experience in the OR and be willing to circulate.

*Orthopedic and ortho-spine experience preferred.


Licensure/Certification
* Licensed RN in the State of Florida is required. Bachelor of Nursing is preferred. (BSN)
* Current BLS from AHA, ACLS required.

*CNOR preferred
