The OR Supply Tech is responsible for assisting the coordinator with the ordering, receiving, storage and distribution for all supplies used in the Operating Room. The OR Supply Tech will be responsible for assuring that adequate inventory maintained as well as conducting an extensive supply audit once a year in collaboration with the OR Supply Coordinator. The OR Supply Tech will assist in establishing and maintaining uniformity and accuracy on all patient charges.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for assisting with the ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of all supplies used in the OR.

- Maintains adequate surgery inventory in a cost effective manner.

- Additional responsibilities include: assisting in establishing and maintaining uniformity and accuracy of patient charges.

- Responsible for all required Medical Device Tracking, pertaining to Surgical Services.

- Co-ordinates all return items in a timely manner.

- Co-ordinates all recall items in a timely manner.

-Responsible for patient chart audits.

-Assists Director of Surgical Services in obtaining quotes and information for capital expenditure requests for the OR.

-Demonstrates knowledge of billing process per Cerner/hospital processes.

Education: Accredited school of Nursing or Surgical Technology Program related field preferred.

Certification/License: Registered Nurse license preferred.

Experience: 1 year experience in Operation Room or related field required.

Additional Experience Preferred 

1. Must have strong analytical skills, assist in resolution of supply issues, assist in coordination of in-services for staff on new supplies/equipment and able to build good relationships with techs, nurses, vendors, and surgeons.

2. Must have the ability to maintain a constructive working relationship with administration, surgeons, staff, support services, vendors, and Materials Management.

3. Must be able to work in an independent and organized manner.

4. Must be able to lift, stand, and stoop without physical limitations.

5. Experience with Cerner, Tissue Tracker Manager, Allscripts
