Join our Team! Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Surgery Department is now hiring a full-Time O.R. Support Services Assistant to work in our thriving department at LMC's 326 acute bed care hospital. The department is a secure department with 8 fully operational OR rooms in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. This is a busy unit that does an average of 25-35 surgeries per day. Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
Responsible for transporting patients to and from surgery to their inpatient beds and other areas. Other responsibilities include assisting operating room personnel with the preparation of surgical rooms and retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies and medications. Assists with environmental maintenance of the operating room and with the handling of surgical supplies. Performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor.
Job Requirements Include:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent preferred or experience.Required: BLS, within 30 days of hire.Required: Must be 18 years of age.Required: Must be mature and able to work in stressful situations. Preferred: Hospital or medical experience.No experience necessary.Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
