Position Summary:
The Operating Room Technician ‐ II will aid the Operating Room Team Members prior, during, and after surgical procedures. The main functions of this position will include transporting; working with operating room personnel to assist in patient and equipment preparation; obtaining, maintaining, and processing sterile supplies; and maintaining a clean environment within the department.
Education, License & Cert:
High School Education or GED required. Certified in Basic CPR within 6 months of hire
Experience:
One‐year experience working in a support role in a surgical or nursing department. Desirable candidates possess certification in a health‐related field.
Essential Functions:
1. Maintaining sterility
a. Works in collaboration with CPD to process and obtain sterile/unsterile supplies.
b. Assembles and prepares sterile and unsterile supplies for OR departments.
c. Operates autoclaves, Steris, and Cidex OPA; completes biological tests and documents.
2. Maintaining supplies and equipment
3. Reorder and put away stock medications/authorization to access secured storage areas in the performance of essential job functions and duties.
4. Maintaining a clean environment
5. Responsible for accurate and clear communication to other members of the health care team 6. Authorized access to secured storage areas in the performance of essential functions and duties.
7. Is proactive in controlling costs by seeking any cost saving strategies and reporting them to the department manager
8. Follows hospital/nursing department policies and procedures
9. Represents the hospital in a professional courteous manner
10. Demonstrates effective time management, flexibility, and priority setting.

1. Demonstrates initiative in completing work that needs to be done, within areas of responsibility.
