Responsible for the implementation and management of the enterprise computing infrastructure and applications environment that utilize Oracle database and other Oracle software. This environment supports business, production, manufacturing, engineering and projects work at CNS. Will work with all levels of CNS employees to implement and maintain the most efficient, cost-effective set of solutions for CNS utilizing Oracle enterprise database and other Oracle software. Will work in a team environment to coordinate, implement, and support changes to the environment using technical tools and processes to maintain consistency, availability, and stability in performance and function.
Provides judgment, leadership, and expertise in the implementation of large information systems. Plans, coordinates, and directs requirements analysis, design, development, and evaluation of information management solutions, and maintains operational readiness of information systems. Designs, develops, operates, maintains, and documents software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to engineering, scientific, manufacturing and business requirements. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and environments as laboratory simulation systems, mechanical and electrical systems, weapons armament, and other systems and applications of this nature. Also participates in the design and definition of integrated enterprise-wide systems which at implementation control or support entire functional operating areas. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.
• Install, configure and maintain Oracle database software (19C and above) to company standards and cyber requirements. Setup and support directory structure, access, startup/shutdown scripts using our adopted standards
• Migrate/Upgrade Oracle software and databases, and apply quarterly patches
• Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager helpful
• Setup, configure and maintain backups including RMAN backups and database exports for recovery purposes. Knowledge of Cohesity extremely helpful.
• Knowledge of Weblogic installation and configuration in support of Oracle Forms/Reports
• Knowledge of administering Oracle Primavera extremely helpful
• Knowledge of Oracle APEX from an administration standpoint helpful
• Willingness to provide production on-call support 24x365 by participating in the on-call rotation
• Utilize the ServiceNow Change Management System for all Oracle product installs, de-installs, upgrades, and patch installations for approval prior to implementation
• Create and work Oracle Service Requests (SRs) with Oracle Technical Support as needed
• Coordinate with operating system administrator staff (Windows, Linux) for setup of new servers (virtual) including required OS configurations, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues
• Participate in customer meetings both at the project and enterprise level
• Keep pace with technical advancements within database management systems and supporting software. Incorporate new technologies as appropriate
• Determines specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for database systems and software to interface efficiently with operating system platforms (Linux/Windows), storage devices, backups, and/or other enterprise software compatibility and maintenance
• Manages enterprise database systems and software environments, including applicable enterprise software configurations utilizing available tools and best practice methods
