We have an exciting opportunity for a Orbital Debris Digital Transformation Intern to join our team with the Science Division.
*This is a temporary role not to exceed 19 weeks*
NASA’s Orbital Debris Program Office is dedicated to the measurement, modeling, and mitigation of human-generated space debris, which poses a threat to all resources launched into orbit. Located at NASA Johnson Space Center, this office is NASA’s prime resource research and the development of space debris policy for the United States and the international community. This internship will work on the JETS-II Orbital Debris Communications and IT Support Team providing support to digitally transform and archive documents and multiple forms of legacy data storage media. This work will ensure these valuable historic resources are available for future research and reference. During your internship, you will\:
Delve into past space debris references, such as research papers and publications, in both paper and electronic forms Archive a variety of media including tape drives, compact disks and other obsolete storage devices Digitize papers using a document scanner Integrate these data into archives, and develop indexing and other organizational methods to help build out the archive structure Present work products to customers and counterparts (written & verbal) Work closely with JETS-II Orbital Debris Research & Science Operations (ODRSO) colleagues and NASA Orbital Debris Program Office (ODPO) customers Perform other duties as required *Are you passionate about human space exploration, understanding the universe's origins, and working with a passionate and diverse team to make a difference? Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program Experience with digital file archive management Self-motivated, team player and adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervisionRequisition Preferences\:

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
