Order Entry Clerk
Description We are in search of an Order Entry Clerk to join our team in the manufacturing industry, based in Thousand Palms, California. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. The Order Entry Clerk will be primarily tasked with managing customer orders, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring effective communication with customers. Responsibilities: • Carefully input Purchase Orders into QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency • Confirm and apply discount and special shipping instructions as per computer notes • Generate Commercial Invoices and Shipping documents (Bill of Ladings) as part of the documentation process • Liaise proactively with customers via call or email to gather any missing information such as color, pricing discrepancies, etc. • Verify that packing slips correspond accurately with Purchase Orders as part of quality control • Regularly monitor incoming emails for new orders and quoting requests, responding promptly • Dispatch Email or Fax confirmations in a timely manner • Guarantee that all entered data is double-checked for accuracy, ensuring precision in correspondence and documentation in line with customer instructions • Provide support in answering inbound calls as part of customer service • Perform miscellaneous office duties as required. Requirements • Proficiency in Order Entry procedures and software • Experience with Customer pricing calculations and adjustments • Familiarity with QuickBooks software for accounting and order tracking • Ability to handle Answering Inbound Calls professionally and efficiently • Knowledge of manufacturing industry standards and practices • High level of attention to detail and accuracy • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently • Excellent data entry and typing skills • Experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry is advantageous • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook • Strong problem-solving abilities and initiative • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
