The role of the Surgical Supply Order Picker is to ensure that all cases falling within the Service Level Agreement for picking are picked at scheduled times. The technician will pack sterile instrument sets, peel packs, and related soft goods into case carts for delivery.

 

Additionally, the Technician will be responsible for stocking unused instruments and returning supplies to the case cart room. If all other duties are completed, the Technician may be asked to assist with other surgical supply support projects or materials management operations.

Responsibilities Stock all products delivered to the location from the warehouse or outside deliveries in supporting FIFO.Complete all required supply and instrument returns to the appropriate locationsReconcile preference cards with the operating room schedule and ensure that each case to be picked has a preference card for case-pickingReview the needs list to identify priority case-picking needs by case time order, prioritizing 1st and 2nd casesManage case cart transport after case carts emerge from the wash and appropriately utilize case carts for the packaging of casesPick and stage supplies and instrumentation for case carts according to the daily OR schedule provided by the client as per the EPIC print tickets. Capture and escalate any issues identified during the picking process to the appropriate CPD or Materials Management leadersProperly Label case carts for delivery in support of the Case Cart ProcessMaintain a clean and orderly stocking environment while completing progressive expiration checks on productsIdentify any set/tray needs on preference cards that are not available and notify the CHOP team to prioritizeEnsure and communicate to the client that the package is not compromised (which shall mean the package does not have visible punctures, tears, crushing, and/or stains), not expired, and is intact Maintain quality checks for containerized instrument trays about:Ensure the item has sterilization lot/load informationEnsure all external indicators have changedEnsure filters are presentEnsure tamper-proof locks are intactMaintain quality checks for wrapped and peel-packaged items about:Ensure the item has sterilization lot/load informationEnsure the package confirms that it is not compromised and is intact, which shall mean that the package has no visible holes, rips, or moisture.  Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To be eligible for this position, the applicant must meet the minimum qualifications. Deviations from this requirement must be approved by the Compensation

Manager or Vice President of Human Resources.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

·       Experience working in materials distribution or logistics required.

·        Experience working in healthcare desired.

·       Minimum 2 years of professional experience, with a minimum 2 years in Materials Distribution and a minimum 1 year in hospital materials distribution or inventory management or logistics.

COMPUTER SKILLS

·       Basic working knowledge of computers and programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent customer service, professional attitude, and appearance are a must. Ability to work overtime and meet deadlines. Must be able to pass a criminal background check, FBI fingerprint check, Child Abuse clearance, and drug test, and comply with the immunization requirements.
