Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, Position Description Number D2577000 and is part of the HI 154 MXS, National Guard. LOCATION: 154TH Maintenance Squadron, Hawaii Air National Guard, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Hawaii Responsibilities SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The purpose of this position is to assist journey worker Ordnance Equipment Mechanics in their support to the state and designated agencies in support of their taskings. This is a developmental position description to prepare the incumbent for higher graded Ordnance positions. This dual status technician position requires military membership. Assists journey workers with duties found in the Materiel Section. Assists journey workers with duties found in the Production Section. Assists journey works in the Systems Section by processing munitions transactions, creates, and reports work-orders with higher graded Ordnance Equipment Mechanics in the appropriate automated system. Complies with safety and security requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications If your resume does not include a narrative description of how you meet the GENERAL, SPECIALIZED experiences, and OTHER requirements, you may lose consideration for this position. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which has provided the candidate with the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-05: Must have at least 6 months of experience or training servicing and adjusting ordnance equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, assembling, and disassembling parts. Experience which has demonstrated the ability to identify and locate troubles by sight. Experience in the use of common hand tools. Experience showing the ability to follow written instruction. WG-08: Must have at least 12 months of experience or training in dismantling, cleaning and reassembling various ordnance equipment such as; target detecting, arming, control, steering, power and propulsion units and devices. Experience which required the ability to diagnose malfunctions. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring instruments. Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and meggers. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials. WG-10: Must have at least 18 months of experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying, and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials. This position may be filled at the lower WG-05 or WG-08 grade or the target grade of WG-10. An applicant who is selected at one of the lower grades will have potential for promotion to the target grade of WG-10 without further competition. Promotion to full operating level will be made after qualifications and eligibility requirements have been met and the incumbent is performing at the higher level in a satisfactory manner. MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to an appropriate military position and must meet the definition of a dual status technician in accordance with 32 U S C 709. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. Current T32 Technicians employees who have permanent tenure will occupy this position as a Temporary Promotion Year to Year not to exceed 5 years. Temporary promotion may be converted to a Permanent Promotion without further competition if the position becomes available. Selectee may return to his/her former graded position when the Temporary Promotion is no longer needed and may be effected at any time without adverse action procedures. o. T5 Employees with permanent tenure will lose their permanent status if selected and will be converted to T5/T32 Indefinite. If selected Indefinite tenure appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice. Indefinite tenure appointments will be eligible for health and life insurance coverage and will be covered under a retirement system. p. New Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite tenure appointments do not serve a trial period. Indefinite tenure appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice. Indefinite tenure appointments will be eligible for health and life insurance coverage and will be covered under a retirement system.
