Summary This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position for an ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, Position Description Number D2573000 and is a part of the 169 MXS/MXMW, South Carolina Air National Guard. Responsibilities This position is located in the Munitions Maintenance, Storage, Handling, and Missile Maintenance Section of the Munitions Maintenance Branch. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on assigned missiles, operate, repair, maintain and calibrate missile test equipment, operate the Combat Ammunition System (CAS B), store, handle and perform intermediate level maintenance on assigned conventional munitions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO AREAS OF CONSIDERATION (AOC) 2 ONLY. AOC DEFINITIONS: Area 1: Current permanent employees of the South Carolina Air National Guard. (Note-Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and will not qualify for this AOC) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Air National Guard. Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Air National Guard. Min/Max Military Grades: A1C/E-3, SrA/E-4, SSgt/ E-5, TSgt/E-6 Compatible Military Assignments: 2WXXX MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which has provided the candidate with the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To be rated qualified for this position your resume must show definitively at least 18 months experience in the following- Experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Military skill set is determined by AFSC requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC.
