Job Summary:
This role is responsible for monitoring operations of lower-level roles, driving broader business strategy and strategic implementations, handling high-level business assignments, and overseeing vendors with regional or global reach.
The role leads high-value projects, contributes to defining business requirements, identifies and influences broad-level change, assures compliance, and leverages subject matter knowledge to resolve supply chain issues.
Responsibilities:
Works with the business team to understand the trading structure, objectives, financial and physical flows of both the raw materials and finished goods.
Identify the customs and import/ export VAT and other tax issues that may arise from time to time and come up with options to mitigate.
Works with the business, logistics procurement, market supply chain & logistics team (Especially the Trading Structure representative from market supply chain and logistics team), tax, global trade and other stakeholders to design an efficient, effective and compliant model.
Advise the Logistics Trading Structure representative on the Importer/ Exporter of Record (IOR/ EOR), Incoterms and document flow for import/ export of goods into the HP Contract Manufacturers and warehouses.
Align with HP Contract Manufacturers on the Trading Structure design, the customs implications and the documentation flows.
Supports and works with Logistics Project Management team, Operations and Business Teams to implement any new structure, projects and drives continuous improvements (Eg. identifies opportunities for cost savings, systems and process improvement).
Manages Customs Broker and accountable to deliver operational excellence in customs clearance for all regional business units.
Partner and collaborates with other Supply Chain functions and stakeholders to maximize revenues and Market Share shipments globally.
Ensure Thailand and Vietnam customs operations continue to operate within global trade compliance guidelines, comply with local country regulations and supports compliance audit periodically.
Qualifications:
First level university degree or equivalent experience; may have advanced university degree.
Typically, 8+ years of experience in a logistics and customs operations functions.
Advanced understanding of logistics and customs operations across APJ countries.
Strong analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced time and risk management skills.
Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
Ability to work with team members across geographies to drive operation excellence and achieve desired results.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.
Advanced business acumen, logistics and customs day to day operations knowledge.
Good understanding of APJ countries trade barriers & regulations
Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
Establish and maintaining good relationships with customs authorities and customs brokers.
