A Little More About What You Will be Doing
The Ambulatory Technician is responsible for the ambulation of hospitalized patients cleared for activity out of
bed. The AT performs their duties under the direction of a licensed care giver. It is required that the patient
mobility protocols according to Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) are followed and that the AT will
maintain competency in SPHM skills. In addition to the CSMC SPHM policy, the
• Ambulates patients in a safe and efficient manner, following orders in the patient chart.
• Provides patients with safe ambulation utilizing assistive devices as needed, such as walkers, crutches and
canes.
• Provides world class customer service to all patients, employees, and visitors.
• Reports unsafe working conditions and broken equipment to the supervisor.
• Cleans equipment before and after use.
• Adheres to CSMC policy for safe patient handling.
• Collaborates with nursing team regarding expected patient ambulation level and obtains input on type of
equipment to use.
• Advocates for a “no manual lifting” culture in the medical center.

Education
High School DiplomaExperience
2 or more years of experience in outpatient medical setting with orthopedic specialty experience preferredLicenses/Certification
BLS from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red CrossReq ID : 7174
