Orthopedic Physician Assistant

Description:Responsible for assisting with orthopedic and surgical procedures, caring for patients who present with operable and non-operable conditions, and/or are in need of casting, fracture, and wound care. Adheres to MercyOne Northeast Iowa’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne Northeast Iowa.

What you will Do:   

Assists with surgical procedures in operating room and in clinic.Conducts initial assessment of patients during office visits.Schedules diagnostic test procedures as directed.Documents patient care provided.Applies and removes casts and splints.

Hours/Schedule:  

PRN /Registry - Hours Vary

Minimum Qualifications:      

2 years post-secondary education in an accredited Orthopedic Physician Assistant program.Current Orthopedic Physician Assistant certification in Iowa. BLS. Mandatory Reporter
