What you’ll do:  The Orthopedic Technologist works under the direction of the unit manager, physicians and nursing professionals in the application and removal of specific orthopedic casts, soft goods and braces. Performs a wide variety of services as a member of the patient care team in the treatment and care of patients including advanced, technical patient care procedures and general patient procedures. Assists with tasks which support the unit in order to maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment.  Additional responsibilities include:

Performs application of specific castsPerforms applications of bracesPerforms application of soft goodsPerforms applications of pressure dressingsAssist in Gait teachingDemonstrate care of external fixturesCoordinates and organizes plaster materialsRemoval of cast and other orthopedic appliancesPercent of specific job duties will vary based on scheduled physicians and their specialties.

What you’ll need for this job:

Minimum Education:
Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
Licensure/Certifications:
Required:
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Other: Certified Orthopedic Technologist Program (preferred)
