Volt is hiring an CAL/OSHA Field Inspector to work onsite for our client in Livermore, CA in a Direct Hire opportunity.

\r\n\r\n

As an CAL/OSHA Field Inspector you will,

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tComplete the schedule of monthly inspections and preventative maintenance, ensuring the schedule is completed or alternative arrangements are made.\r\n\tUnderstand work hours and perform inspections within the allowed hours without compromising safety or quality.\r\n\tCommunicate exceptions to supervisor, as soon as possible.\r\n\tPerform inspection of equipment in accordance with established guidelines.\r\n\tDocument findings and make corrective recommendations to the customer for inspected equipment including a written “Safety Notification” of any observed or known safety concerns, if appropriate.\r\n\tDetermine customer’s intentions to purchase repairs and advise local service office of actions necessary to sell or complete the repairs.\r\n\tConsult with customer regarding all repair and safety related issues and discuss during the VISIT REVIEW recommendations that will assist the customer with improving their SAFETY & PRODUCTIVITY, prior to leaving job site. Determine items requiring quotation.\r\n\tComplete and provide proper electronic documentation utilizing the established company digital tools required for each service, obtaining the customer’s signature and acceptance.\r\n\tProvide all required information and data for quotation including; Master data and COMPONENT level information, hours and number of Field Operatives required for repair when FAULTS are identified, complete list of tools and equipment required and other pertinent notes to assist with the quotation process.\r\n\tRead, understand and apply the contents of all OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI and other codes or regulations pertaining to our industry. Refresh and update knowledge periodically. Maintain copy of “Inspector’s Course” to be available for report completion at customer site.\r\n\tComplete inspection reports and other required and appropriate documents in a professional, accurate, neat and legible manner and submit same in a timely manner and in accordance with established guidelines. Review job with Service Manager, discussing repair issues and customer feedback received during the inspection review.\r\n\tMaintain regular communication with the service office and Service Supervisor, in accordance with established practices.\r\n\tCoordinate work schedule with Service Supervisor. Perform service/repair work, as required and as scheduling permits.\r\n\tMaintain all company issued equipment, vehicle and assets in a safe and proper working order. Operate tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Notify supervisor of any deficiencies for resolution.\r\n\tMaintain supply of forms, literature, inventory and miscellaneous materials in the service vehicle. Document use or sale to customer, as required.\r\n\tFollow all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer.\r\n\tMaintain company vehicle and uniforms in a clean and presentable manner.\r\n\tParticipate in monthly safety meetings.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Requirements:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCandidate MUST have 5+ years of recent daily overhead crane technician experience.\r\n\tInspectors are required to be certified to perform compliance inspections and/or preventive maintenance products that incorporate compliance inspections in accordance with Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations.\r\n\t(a)(2) All applicants must possess knowledge of sections 4884, et. seq. of Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations, as well as ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) standards, relating to the design and operation of cranes and derricks, including those specifically applicable to the types of cranes for which a license will be issued.\r\n\t(b) (1) To be approved the surveyor must possess knowledge and experience with the specific equipment subject to the license and demonstrate at least five years of related experience as set forth in subsection (a)(2) above. Such surveyors will be approved by the Division to perform certification services only under the authority and supervision of the person issued a license pursuant to this article. Approval of a surveyor pursuant to this subsection does not constitute authorization to engage in certification activities outside the authority of the license.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Qualification:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAssociate’s degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or related field or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience is preferred.\r\n\tIn addition, all applicants must demonstrate at least five years related experience with cranes or derricks. This five years of experience must include not less than two years of crane related field duties such as crane inspection as a crane operator, heavy equipment mechanic, shop foreman, operations supervision, rigging specialist, or mechanical or civil engineer. Related education may be substituted for experience at a ratio of two years of education for one year of experience up to three years.\r\n\tMust have and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver’s license.\r\n\tMust be willing and able to work off the ground.\r\n\tMust possess good written and verbal communication skills.\r\n\tMust be able to work varied overtime, as required by customer and be available for “on call” as part of the service office rotation (if required in specific location).\r\n\tMust be able to travel and work out of town, on occasion.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pay Rate: $42.00 - $48.00/hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
