Global facilities OSM Engineer

As an OSM (Off-Site Manufacturing) Engineer at Micron, you will join a world-class engineering team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation and excellence. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to work on brand-new projects in a collaborative and inclusive environment. You will be instrumental in ensuring the detailed execution of our off-site manufacturing (OSM) initiatives, driving both efficiency and quality in our construction projects.

Your validated expertise and leadership will be crucial in aligning facility design standards, leading project schedules, and controlling costs. You will work closely with our Global Facilities Central Engineering Team, Construction Team, Line Planning Team, and O&M Team, ensuring that every project meets our strict standards for safety, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities and tasks:Project Overall Management - OSM

Establish and update the Project Execution Plan for OSM.

Assess and mitigate project risks, quantifying them in terms of cost and time.

Prioritize implementation strategies, including phasing, budgeting, and contract packaging.

Align all OSM activities with Micron’s Global Standards and Specifications.

Project Coordination Management - OSM

Develop and implement project coordination procedures.

Establish meeting structure, review procedures, and ensure timely issue resolution.

Distribute and expedite contractor submittals and requests for information.

Design & Engineering Management - OSM

Develop and implement engineering management procedures and document control systems.

Review design work for consistency and compliance with local laws.

Coordinate interdisciplinary reviews and ensure accurate BIM model integration. Support value engineering and lead design changes.

Schedule Management and Control - OSM

Develop overall project schedule, integrating contractor schedules.

Ensure OSM scope is aligned with project achievements and dependencies.

Prepare regular progress reports and baseline schedules.

Quality Management - OSM

Implement QA/QC programs for both off-site and on-site work.

Conduct routine supplier factory visits and QA/QC audits.

Perform final QA/QC inspections at important project achievements.

Procurement Management Support - OSM

Provide recommendations on scope allocation and interface management.

Review procurement packages and support long lead equipment/material procurement.

Ensure alignment of technical documents with OSM scope.

Construction Management - OSM

Review and approve construction work, including execution plans and logistics.

Lead regular construction meetings and ensure conformance with engineering documents.

Monitor construction progress and verify field changes.

Test and Commissioning, and Project Handover & Completion Management - OSM

Review and approve testing and commissioning plans.

Arrange handover to Micron after successful operational tests.

Approve O&M plans and project handover documents.

Cost Management and Control - OSM

Lead and control contractor costs, updating estimates at completion.

Verify invoices against actual progress and achievements.

Support defining of contractor claims and changes.

Contract Management Support

Monitor contractor compliance with scope of work and initiate corrective actions.

Review and verify contractor claims, supporting negotiations to improve benefits.

Support settlement of claims and disputes.

Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management - OSM

Implement EHS assurance programs in compliance with local requirements and OSHA.

Review and approve EHS activities to ensure a safe working environment.

Reliability

Engineering support for site system improvement projects (System Reliability Improvements, Quality Improvement and Equipment EOL replacements) and major Site Incident Prevention Program (SIPP) review.

Be responsible for regional efforts and find opportunities to align strategic program (e.g. BCP, Critical spec, Quality Defense line).

Regional events lesson learnt sharing and influence of global standard development.

Communication

Act as single point of contact for regional sites and GFC central teams with providing alignment on metrics reporting.

Engineering

Guide understanding of each sites OSM Engineering in order to provide critical support.

Technically lead a global multi-functional team focused on project, design, construction, operational excellence with the site Engineering.

Provide support to all sites including on site presence for construction project and critical OSM Engineering issues/matters.

OSM Engineering design and construction oversite of major construction projects.
