Job Summary

The School of Social Work (SSW) seeks an Academic Records Assistant (ARA) to join their high functioning Office of Student Services and Enrollment Management team. The ARA will report to the OSS Office Manager and provide support to the School of Social Work Office of Student Services and Enrollment Management in the areas of student services, admissions, financial aid and recruitment.

Responsibilities*Respond to inquiries by providing interpretative information on the School's admissions policies and procedures, application process, and application status with sensitivity to matters of confidentiality.Process inquiries, applications, data changes, admissions decisions, and financial aid decision letters for the MSW program, including data entry, problem solving, preparation of various forms and letters.Process various student forms, including data entry and communications.Process MasterTrack and SW Essentials eligibility reviews.Help with the review and evaluation of academic transcripts for completeness and official verification.Track and process incoming admitted student checklist items and required transcripts.Calculate grade point averages involving interpretation of diverse data.Order office supplies for OSS.Delegate work assigned to work-study students/temporary staff.Take the lead in the management of recruitment materials shipping to recruiting events.Help with major events such as SSW commencement and Fall Orientation.Handle and maintain OSS reconciliation and record of receipts for events and OSS shortcode spending on general account.Schedule appointments for various OSS staff.Help with mailings, and incoming/outgoing mail.Answer SSW mainline phone and process mainline voice messages.Direct in-person guests, visitors and students.Perform routine tasks related to student services, admissions, and recruitment.Perform other duties as assigned.

 Required Qualifications*Bachelor's degree.Two to three years of related work experience.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to deliver excellent customer service. Reliable, highly organized and detail oriented with excellent time management skills.Experience with using Windows-based computer programs; proficient and comfortable with working independently on computers and with a variety of applications including database/data entry.Interest and ability to seek out supervisory support when needed.Experience with decisions regarding handling confidential information.Ability to work independently and to interact professionally with School of Social Work students, administrative staff, faculty and internal/external campus partners.

 Desired Qualifications*Experience/understanding of relational databases and web-based applications; experience with Wolverine Access and expense reporting,Experience and a desire to work with students with a focus on support, relationship building and customer service.

 Modes of Work

Primary work location is on-site in SSWB with a hybrid arrangement possible depending on supervisor approval.
