The Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) is looking for an osteopathic physician to teach first, second, and third-year medical students in a discipline-based curriculum on the Middletown NY campus.
The position also includes clinical/student precepting responsibilities in the on-campus community OMM clinic.
ResponsibilitiesThe Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) faculty position specifically involves collaborating with faculty on the Harlem, NY and Great Fall, MT campuses in the development, organization, and delivery of the first, second, and third year OMM curriculum presented simultaneously on all campuses. Responsibilities in the on-campus clinic include OMM clinical practice and precepting of preclinical and clinical osteopathic medical students.
Although a commitment to excellence in teaching and clinical training is the primary responsibility of the position, faculty members also provide service to the school in a variety of ways including conducting student interviews, serving as students advisors, and participating on the administrative committees of the college. The successful candidate is expected to already have, or to develop scholarly activity that results in peer-reviewed publications.

Education, Preparation, and Training
Applicants must possess a D.O. or M.D. degree. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for exceptional teaching at the medical school (or graduate level) in the areas mentioned in the job responsibilities section, demonstrate potential for research, and work well with the rest of faculty team. Preference will be given to those applicants who are board-eligible/board-certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, or who have a certificate of special proficiency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (C-SPOMM).Skills
The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, have relevant content and clinical expertise, and have a passion for teaching osteopathic principles and techniques at the undergraduate medical education level.Computer Skills
Basic computer skills supporting the proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite (eg, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel) as well as software used to prepare written exams and Learning Management Systems.Travel
Infrequent travel to the branch campus location in Manhattan, NY. Travel to professional academic conferences, as approved by the Department Chair.Physical Demands
