**Job Summary:**
Responsible for directing the overall development of detailed schedules for forced, planned, and refueling outages while ensuring shutdown safety, ALARA practice, Technical Specifications and plant procedures adherence. Directly supervises other Outage Specialist to ensure schedule logic are correct. This position coordinates the efforts of the station across all organizational boundaries, working with all departments/contracting firms, and designated team leaders for pre-outage scoping, preparation and execution. This position requires a self-starter that can make decisions, influence others outside their organization, lead teams, and demand results from others.
This individual oversees/approves the schedule work performed by department schedulers and those individuals brought in to support contractors or projects.
**Job Requirements:**
**Minimum:**
• Experience directing operations, maintenance, or project management activities in at least 4 refueling outages
• Personal computer (PC) knowledge
• Intradepartmental communication skills (verbal and written)
• Minimum of 7 years overall nuclear power plant experience or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of scheduling experience preferred
**Preferred:**
• Current or previous RO/SRO license or certification (preferred to be at that site or similar site, i.e. PWR/BWR)
• Shutdown Safety Program knowledge
• Technical BS Degree
• Working knowledge of mainframe and PC based scheduling tools
• Experience with ESOMs / Maximo / P6
• FLS / managerial experience
**Major Job Responsibilities:**
1. Supervises other Outage Specialist to coordinate the detailed schedule and outage plan development for the upcoming unit outage to ensure technical specification compliance and maintain shutdown safety in a manner consistent with station procedures, processes, and goals. As a working supervisor, they lead various teams in scope determination and scope control for the upcoming unit outage by reviewing commitments, long range plan, modification schedule, technical specification, preventive maintenance backlogs, and operating department priorities.
2. Provides supervisory function over the department schedulers (SPOCs) and other schedulers brought in to support contractors or projects. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops these individuals to ensure a consistent approach to scheduling, IAW the guidance of the fleet. Communicate, enforce, and adhere to pre-outage execution milestones.
3. Provide direction to all departmental planners, schedulers, and specialized teams for the outage plan and schedule preparation and execution. Coordinate the outage plan and schedule execution ensuring technical specification compliance while maintaining shutdown safety consistent with station procedures, processes and goals.
4. Direct the development, implementation, and communication of the Shutdown Safety Program.
