Job Summary:
Join our team at Clarity Healthcare as an Admission Specialist for our outpatient program!
 

As an Admission Specialist, you'll be responsible for the admission of clients, assisting program sites with census management and reporting, operating phone systems, and working closely with the billing department. Key Responsibilities:

Respond to new referrals and document them appropriately.

Maintain a waiting list according to CARF and DMH standards.

Maintain positive, professional relationships with referral sources, clients, and coworkers, adhering to the Code of Ethics and System policies.

Ensure program census is maintained according to the service model, applicable to medically monitored inpatient detoxification, residential, and/or outpatient clients/patients.

Correct any file/charting deficiencies within the appropriate timeframe.

Facilitate screenings, either by phone or in person.

Provide administrative support to clinical team members for letters, forms, etc.

Complete admissions in applicable databases, including face sheets, release of information, residency, and financial information.

Coordinate with Care Managers for clients’ insurance information.

Enter data into the computer database within appropriate timeframes.

Coordinate with the billing department to ensure all admissions, transfers, and discharges are completed on time and successfully batched to payers.

Exhibit exceptional customer service skills, creating a welcoming environment for new clients/patients.

Assist with filing, quantitative chart reviews, and compiling chart information.

Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling and Guidance, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Education, Vocational Counseling, Psychology, Pastoral Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related human services field.

Bachelor’s Degree in any other field with two years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting.

Practical Nurse License under the Illinois Nurse Practice Act (225 ILCS 65).

Certificate of Psychiatric Rehabilitation from a DHS-approved program, plus a high school diploma or GED, and two years of mental health services experience.

Recovery Support Specialist certified by the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association, Inc.

Family Partnership Professional Certificate from the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association, Inc.

Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant under the Illinois Occupational Therapy Practice Act [225 ILCS 75] with at least one year of mental health experience.

High School Diploma or GED with five years of supervised clinical experience in mental health or human services (specify clinical experience location if applicable).

Supervisory Requirements:

None.

Additional Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong ability to establish rapport and create a welcoming atmosphere.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.

Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Word & Excel.

Knowledge of confidentiality laws related to mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

Extensive knowledge of program-specific policies, procedures, and regulations.
