ResponsibilitiesHelp consumers to regain control over their lives through self-directed recovery. Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness. Use evidence-based practices focusing on individual, family, and group therapy. Link clients to community resources including DCFS, probation/parole, courts, medical care, and natural supports. Promote positive interactions within Chestnut and with the community to sustain a favorable program reputation.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree with 5 years’ supervised mental health experience. Master’s degree with at least 1,000 hours of supervised mental health experience preferred. Must obtain Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor or Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification (CADC or CRADC) within two years of hire. Must be willing to be trained in Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) and obtain CRA certification within 3 months following training. Basic computer skills and experience using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and an electronic medical record.
