Position Summary: The Outpatient Nurse (RN) is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care deliveries in the outpatient Breast Health setting. The nurse is responsible for triaging patients at each visit, perform nurse visits, chaperone physician at all female patient visits, review medications, assist with in office biopsies, assist excisional procedures and seromas, suture removal, staple removal, frequent wound care, manage and monitor surgical drains, triage post-operative complications, perform ultrasounds of the breast, draw blood for genetic testing, educate patients about their breast cancer, surgeries, and treatment, schedule surgeries and presurgical testing, authorizations for surgeries and imaging, enter all lab data into the EMR, enter all H&Ps, enter all new patient clinical history into the EMR, review charts to ensure that all MIPs requirements are finished, Lymphedema measurements, maintain AED, keep track of inventory and order medical supplies, stock the exam rooms, answer and triage patient calls, prepare for and participate in the annual breast walk, and participate in monthly meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN), required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred.
Experience:
• Clinical RN experience, preferred.
• Experience in Breast Health services, preferred.
Licensure:
• Current RN licensure in good standing with the South Carolina Board of Nursing (SCLLR), required.
• American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational Development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
