Outpatient Radiology Tech Assistant - Part Time 20 hours
every Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday 4p-8p, and every Saturday 7:30a-3:30p
Preferred candidates will have healthcare, customer service and an interest in Radiology.
Summary:
Assist the patient, technologist, and Radiologist during the patient's visit to enhance throughput and expedite the best diagnosis for the patient. Works with the team in all departments to deliver quality care and be a contributing member of the Radiology team.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Preparation: A.) Greets patient and directs them from the waiting room to the imaging suite B.) Assists patient in filling out appropriate paperwork for their exam C.) Assists patients in preparing for their exam by explaining the procedure
2. Clinical preparedness: A.) Evaluates patient prescription to ensure proper exam is performed pertaining to the individual ailment and correlates to the scheduled order B.) Assists in obtaining corrected order when needed C.) Uploads outside images and reports
3. Assist with Imaging Procedures: A.) Changes patient and prepares patient for procedure B.) Provides support to the Radiologic Technologist during imaging procedures by helping position the patient or handling equipment as directed C.) Assists the Radiologic Technologist in monitoring the patient during procedures for any signs of discomfort or adverse reactions and alert the medical team as needed D.) Provides support to the technologist and Radiologist during biopsy procedures
4.) Equipment Assistance: A.) Help set up, clean, and maintain the imaging equipment and ensure that it is in proper working order B.) Ensure all equipment, rooms, and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety protocols C.) Ensures all rooms are clean and stocked at the end of each shift
5.) Administrative Assistance: A.) Assists with updating patient records, answering basic inquiries about procedures, and makes patient confirmation calls to give protocol preps 2 days in advance of patient appointment
6.) Fulfills all compliance and safety responsibilities related to the position
7.) Performs other duties as assigned
Other Information:
Education Essential: HS Graduate or Equivalent
Essential: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Desired: Previous experience working hands-on with patients in a medical setting
Desired: Previous experience in customer service
