II. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
Performs direct speech therapy services to patients in accordance with generally accepted speech therapy standards, State of Maryland Speech Therapy Practice Act, code of ethics, and departmental procedures. Records patient evaluations, re-evaluations and care provided in the medical record, in accordance with departmental documentation standards.Completes all requirements of the fellowship program including participating in all educational and programmatic activities, and developing and maintaining a personal program of self-study and professional growth under the guidance of residency staff. Complete a minimum of 36 weeks worked, totaling no less than 1,260 hours. Schedule 18 hours of direct supervision and 18 hours of indirect supervision with clinical supervisor to meet requirements of CF position( 6 hours for each per segment of year)Participates in quality assurance activities and suggests areas for improvement to colleagues in a tactful and considerate manner. Proposes quality assurance topics and alternate treatment techniques to improve Speech Language Pathology therapy services.Assumes responsibility to resolve or report clinical and operational issues to department leadership for resolution, in order to assure high quality care, and efficient departmental operations.Demonstrates interdisciplinary patient centered care and delivers excellent customer service.Completes all documentation and submits SLPCF Report and Rating Forms.Company Description
The UMSJ Outpatient Rehabilitation Institute is located on the campus the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson. We are a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic that includes Physical and Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology. Our staff work as a team in this unregulated outpatient office with a wonderful working environment. We offer free parking and a flexible schedule. We are part of the University of Maryland Rehab Network.
