Apply for our Outpatient Surgery Nurse Manager role today! **Job Summary and Qualifications** The Outpatient Surgery RN Manager is responsible for the complete oversight of the unit and serves as liaison between staff, physicians, and administrative personnel. They work cohesively with the Director to ensure excellence in care, improved quality, and fiscal responsibility. The Manager promotes strong and effective working relationships with other departments within the facility/health system including but not limited to nursing, supply chain, and other ancillary departments. Responsible for maintaining timekeeping system, schedules, accountability records for direct reports. **What you will do in this role:** + Perform the primary function of assessing, planning and evaluating the pre/post-operative care of all assigned patients, infancy through life span in the Outpatient Nursing unit. + Promote teamwork with surgical services personnel, surgeons, anesthesia department personnel and staff from other departments. + Ensure appropriate staffing in relation to required patient care. Evaluate staff on job performance, counsel staff when needed, and initiate training, education and competencies for OPNU staff. + Participate in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. + Maintain cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and all other customers. + Promote a supportive, teamwork-oriented environment. + Fulfill departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of TriStar Horizon Medical Center. **What qualifications you will need:** + Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice or compact state required + Associate’s Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred + Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required + Clinical nursing leadership experience highly preferred + Basic Cardiac Life Support or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of hire + Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 18 months of hire + PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date TriStar Horizon Medical Center is an accredited, 150+ bed regional medical center.
