JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Conduct outreach and development community partnerships. Provide consultation and education to community partners (schools, child-care agencies, primary care providers, etc.). Conduct culturally and linguistically appropriate, validated screening, and assessments to ensure the early identification of behavioral and developmental concerns with families and children birth to eight. For children/parents/caregivers who screen as potentially needing an intervention, staff will conduct evidence based assessments targeting the specific issues identified and develop an individualized intervention plan to address the child/parent/caregiver’s needs. Services will be offered face to face and virtually.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the community contact for the program and participate in community networking activities.Provide consultation and education to community partners (schools, child-care agencies, primary care providers, etc.).Conduct culturally and linguistically appropriate, validated screening, and assessments to ensure the early identification of behavioral and developmental concerns in the focus population.Facilitate comprehensive child/parent/caregiver screenings within, and/or in coordination with, such child/family serving partner organizations.For children/parents/caregivers who screen as potentially needing an intervention, staff will conduct evidence based assessments targeting the specific issues identified and develop an individualized intervention plan to address the child/parent/caregiver’s needs.Provide in-home and virtual mental health consulatation for program participants.Maintain clinical documentation in an electronic health record.Meet all required deadlines for documentation.Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity in working with families from diverse backgrounds.Attends meetings promptly and actively participates in: trainings, staff meetings, supervision, etc.Provide community education to promote the program.All must be done within a standard 40 hour weekAll other duties as assigned by Project Director

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.Skilled at maintaining a culture of respect.Self-motivated individual who can set and meet simultaneous short and long term performance.Committed to the program principles. Knowledge of evidence informed practices specific to the population of focus.Able to work both independently and a part of a team.Understanding of social and emotional development for children ages birth to eight.Knowledge of appropriate development milestones for children ages birth to eight.

QUALIFICATIONS

         

Education Level              

Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, sociology, education, counseling or a related field. Masters preferred. Bilingual preferred.  Experience providing services in-home is preferred.

Years of Experience       

One year of experience working with families and children birth to eight preferred.
