Outreach and Engagement Specialist

SCO Family of Services is currently seeking a compassionate Outreach and Engagement Specialist to join our team in our Madonna Heights Morning Star programs. Our Morning star program provide a safe and structured environment for Women in recovery, while our Residential Counselors assist our clients in developing a drug and alcohol-free, self-supporting lifestyle.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To provide care management, outreach to minority communities,

strengthen relationships with providers and community organizations.

REPORTS TO: Project Director

SUPERVISES: NA

I. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Collect and promote information pertaining to Morning Star Community.

· Secure and identify needed information for community and network medical, behavioral health and social assistance providers through telephonic, written, and/or face to face outreach, research, and maintenance of the program resource directory.

· Plan and attend outreach activities with community organizations including presentations, workshops, tabling and events that promote participation in MSC PPW Program

· Secure, manage, cultivate year-round partnerships that serve historically underrepresented groups (Black, Latinx and Low Income Population) to support MSC’s mission.

· Represent MSC at community events and conferences to increase brand recognition and reach all program goals.

· Host virtual and in-person information sessions and applications workshops to support MSC.

· Conduct phone calls email and im-person campaigns to individuals and organizations to build awareness for MSC.

· Work closely with Community Partnerships to ensure that strategies being implemented is effective and meeting targets.

· All other duties as assigned

II. QUALIFICATIONS:

· Women in recovery with experience similar to Morning Star residents

· High school diploma or GED

· Recovery Peer Advocate – Certification preferred.

III. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

· Experience working with individuals and families impacted by Substance Use Disorders.

· The ability to establish a respectful relationship with persons served to help them gain skills and confidence.

· The ability to work collaboratively with other personnel and/or service providers and professionals.

· The capacity to maintain a helping role and to intervene appropriately to meet service goals; the ability to set limits.

IV. AMOUNT OF TRAVEL AND ANY OTHER SPECIAL CONDITIONS OR REQUIREMENTS

Travel 75% of time
