The University of Maine’s Forest Bioproducts Research Institute is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Outreach and Extension Coordinator. The Outreach and Extension Coordinator helps facilitate and enhance the communication and outreach activities of FBRI, its programs, and its affiliates. Typical hiring range for this soft-money funded position is $45,000 to $50,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. Qualifications: Required: + BA/BS (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience) in communications, public relations, marketing, graphic design or another relevant field. + Excellent written communication and public speaking skills. + Proficiency in website design and maintenance, using WordPress/Gutenberg or similar. + Proficiency in leveraging social media to achieve communication objectives and grow online audiences. + Demonstrated skill and experience in creating compelling and easily understandable infographics (the visual representation of data). + Demonstrated skill with desktop publishing software and experience creating professional-level print materials such as brochures and flyers. Preferred: + Skill and experience in project management and event planning. + Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a member of a team in a professional setting. + Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and responsibilities simultaneously, develop and implement systems and strategies, determine and set priorities, meet deadlines and track details. + Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of constituents on campus and throughout the state and region.
