Job Summary:
The Peer Outreach Coordinator is responsible for on-going community outreach and advocacy at an active recovery support center; that develops and maintains peer- to- peer support services and activities provided for and people in recovery from substance use. The recovery Support center is encompassed in peer governance and uses the peer participatory process to create a safe, inclusive environment to promote ongoing growth and long term recovery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identifying and networking with recovery oriented community organizations Manages peer outreach at community activities Responsible for developing educational and informational presentations on Recovery Support Center benefits Assists with gathering required data for reports Responsible for developing new membership orientation and training Peer Volunteers on orienting new membersMinimum Qualifications:
High School or General Education Diploma Knowledge in the field of substance abuse, good verbal and written communication skills. Preferred to be in recovery for a period of no less than 2 years. Be familiar with the local recovery community Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation required.
