Position Summary:

Provides technical skills for the performance of basic laboratory tasks required in the preparing and analyzing of various specimens. 

 

Position Key Accountabilities:

Logs patient data into computer system ensuring accuracy and completeness.Stains and coverslips slides.Labels biopsy cassettes and prepares biopsy specimens for grossing using routine techniques.Processes and aliquots samples in preparation for further testing. Answers laboratory phone and triages client service concerns. Files slides and paperwork.Performs and documents instrument and stain maintenance.Acquires laboratory specimens from nearby contracted offices and clinics.Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Minimal familiarity with computer and minimal typing skills.

Minimum Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

None

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
