We are seeking an Outreach Specialist to join our team in our Philadelphia, PA location. This role is 90% community-based at different SEPTA stations across the system.

 

This posting is for full-time, first shift Monday - Friday 5:00am - 1:00pm.

 

Earn $22.41/hr.!

 

The Outreach Specialist works as part of a team working at specific SEPTA stations across the system. This role is the first point of contact for individuals and should provide information, guidance, and other support as individuals navigate the behavioral health services in the city of Philadelphia.

 

Position Details

Influences clients in the community as a part of the outreach team. Always maintain situational awareness and use de-escalation strategies to maintain a calm and welcoming environment, conducting individual interventions as needed. Assists individuals with building social skills in the community that will enhance quality of life. Assists individuals in developing empowerment skills through education and self-advocacy. Offers a non-judgmental forum for listening and providing empathy for the struggles of individuals. Uses personal experiences to develop meaningful and trusting relationships with participants, acting as a mentor to help participants actively create the lifestyle they desire through exploration and discussion of their goals. Actively reaches out to particularly vulnerable individuals who come in for hospitality services but are hesitant to engage in additional resources offered, collaborating with fellow staff throughout the process. Informs consumers about community and natural supports and how to utilize these in the recovery process. Ability to educate and encourage resistant PIRs to participate in treatment options. Makes placement for homeless individuals including shelters, cafes, safe havens or treatment options. Keeps updated files and documentation regarding engagements and referrals.
