Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Grinding Machine Operator to perform precision grinding of outside diameters within 0.001”. The ideal candidate must excel at mathematics, be proficient in reading blueprints, and skilled in using measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Good housekeeping and adherence to the 5S system are essential.
Work You’ll Do:
Operate grinding machines to perform precision grinding of outside diameters.Read and interpret blueprints to understand machining specifications.Use and calibrate measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers to ensure precision.Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance.Ensure the quality of machined parts meets or exceeds specifications.Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.Adhere to the 5S system (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).Team:
This role will be a part of the Atlanta Facility team reporting directly to the Production Operations Manager.
Basic Qualifications:
Proven experience in an Outside Diameter grinding machine role.Strong mathematical skills.Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Good physical condition and stamina.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.Preferred Qualifications:
Mechanical apprenticeship, vocational training, or an associate degree in mechanical technology. Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), preferably asset essentials Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform responsibilities. Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations. Through understanding of both hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components.Physical Demands:
