Outside Sales Consultant - Life Science

We are looking for a commercially minded Field Sales Engineer to be part of our outstanding sales team in the UK and grow the Life Sciences business.

This is predominantly a front-line sales role, with an emphasis on creating demand within new and under-penetrated end user and OEM accounts. This will involve crafting demand for key, sometimes specialised products, exciting technologies and differentiated solutions, into the industry focusing on positioning, relationship building and displacement.

In this role, your responsibilities will be: Develop and maintain a solid understanding of available market, general business and new project opportunities across products within the Life Science market. Utilise business development and account leadership skills to improve efficiency and customer facing selling activities. Meet or exceed set targets whilst growing and maintaining an opportunity funnel. Identify new and actively engage with existing customers and opportunities by promoting unique product features. Develop a deep understanding of the customer’s business, their drivers and language while actively applying suitable products and solutions to address these goals. Build account relationships to become the trusted advisor within selected accounts and become their trusted advisor for instrumentation. Liaise with internal and external sales teams in product and application knowledge sharing, planning and execution activities to continuously improve the customer service levels. Develop strategic account plans for assigned accounts to dive customer dedication and engagement. Collaborate with the UK&I team, project pursuit and key account teams to maximise customer value and share knowledge across focus sites to increase the volume. Who you are:

For this role you will need: HNC and/or Degree level in Engineering field or equivalent. Experience of Process Automation & Life Science industry. Consistent track record of direct selling in a B2B environment. Experience in developing long term relationships with external customers. Demonstrate a consultative approach to selling. Able to demonstrate effective presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrate a pro-active, flexible and pragmatic approach. English proficiency to business standard is mandatory. Ability to travel to fulfil duties of the role is crucial. Preferred qualifications that set you apart: Proficiency in any other European languages (Italian, French, Spanish). Ability to develop successful cross functional relationships internally, within a matrix organisation.
