Job description :

This position is focused on optimizing sales to a select group of customers and generating business from new and existing accounts. The position will be responsible for liaising and coordinating between the company and its customers to ensure optimal levels of customer service.

Responsibilities:

Make regular personal visits to his/her customer group to develop business, inform of special rates and services, and generate and receive orders. Resolve customer issues and/or problems; collaborate with inside sales, credit department and warehouse to investigate and resolve problems; recommend improvements and corrective actions. Coordinate customer purchases with internal sales department; follow up as required. Analyze customer base to identify other areas of opportunity and to develop new accounts. Prepare sales forecasts for the following sales year; review sales results with Regional Manager on a monthly basis or as required. Responsible for monitoring customer creditworthiness and reporting irregularities to the Credit Department and Regional Manager. Participate in the company's health and safety program; undertake training as required; ensure compliance with all health and safety guidelines. Assist in the warehouse, order desk, enter and prepare quotations in our ERP system as required. Participate in special sales functions and trade shows as required. Assist with territory planning to effectively maximize the number of sales visits. Stay up-to-date with company products and services. Liaise with supplier representatives to develop/promote mutual interests; attend and participate in training/instruction programs as required. Participate in our training program and complete product training on a regular basis. Prepare and generate reports as required.

Skills and qualifications :

College degree in sales/marketing, business administration or related discipline Four (4) years customer service/sales experience preferred with basic knowledge of fire protection, plumbing and heating, and mechanical/industrial piping A combination of education and experience Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills (bilingualism may be required for some sites) High degree of accuracy with attention to detail Self-starter, well organized with the ability to multi-task Available to travel daily, some overnight travel may be required Must be able to meet all travel requirements within and outside Canada Must be able to meet and entertain customers as required Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record Computer literate, good math skills Reading blueprints and schematics is an asset Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
