As our Outside Sales Representative you will be responsible for managing the needs of our current clients to ensure we are delivering a high level of personalized customer service while also continuously hunting and closing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high degree of self-confidence, passion, initiative, and commitment to customer service. Reporting directly to our Director of Sales, this position is based in Houston, TX. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR + Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Communications, Engineering, or a similar field preferred. Experience in lieu of education is accepted. + Experience: 2+ years of experience in account management, technical sales experience required. + Skills: Consultative and strategic sales experience selling into the refining, power, chemical processing, and heavy industrial industries. + Customer Focus: Experience in selling direct to owners in a site facility environment is preferred. WHAT YOU’LL DO + Develop sales plans that defines the strategy/actions required to achieve goals and growth objectives. + Assess customer needs and suggests appropriate products and services; respond to more complex customer inquiries; negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets. + Identify, research, and contact prospective customers and builds positive relationships to generate future sales and repeat business. + Refers sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization so they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands. + Develops long-term sales plans for key customers and adapt sales activities so these objectives are met. + Build and advocate deal strategies with clients on short-term projects and long-range partnerships through various sales channels. + Plan and execute weekly travel schedule to meet customer meetings required.
