HDR is a growing organization made up of great people working together on projects solving our transit client’s greatest challenges. Be a part of our Rail and Transit System’s team, changing the way we connect our cities through electrification. HDR is seeking a talented, driven individual who is interested in Overhead Contact Systems (OCS) for rail electrification. This is a great opportunity to learn a niche industry under our senior engineers and work on challenging projects across North America. Here are some of the responsibilities associated with this position:

In the role of OCS Lead Designer, we'll count on you to:Perform engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a licensed engineerDesign tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and proceduresProduction of design drawings and construction documents through the use of computer aided design and other softwarePreparation of design or quantity calculationsPreparation of specifications and contract documentsCoordination with other disciplines as necessaryOther duties as assigned by the supervising engineerPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, or electrical)Experience working in multi-disciplinary environments5 years of OCS design experienceEIT with the ability to become a licensed Professional Engineer

Required Qualifications
Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experienceA minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supportedAptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supportedKnowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supportedProficient with Microsoft OfficeGood verbal and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
