Overhead Crane Operator
Job Overview:

The Overhead Crane Operator is responsible for operating cranes that lift, move, and position heavy materials, equipment, and machinery in industrial environments. The role involves following safety protocols, conducting equipment inspections, and performing minor maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:Operate Overhead Cranes: Safely operate overhead cranes to lift and move heavy materials such as steel beams, machinery, or construction components within a facility or job site.Material Handling: Safely position and transport materials to designated areas within the facility or site, ensuring proper placement and alignment.Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of cranes, cables, hooks, and other components to ensure proper functioning. Report any malfunctions or necessary repairs to maintenance staff.Safety Compliance: Follow safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring the crane operation adheres to all safety standards.Load Calculation: Ensure that loads do not exceed the crane's weight capacity and that proper load distribution is maintained during lifting.Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including riggers, to ensure safe and efficient lifting, moving, and placing of loads.Load Rigging: Assist in the rigging and securing of loads, including using appropriate slings, hooks, and other rigging equipment.Signal Communication: Use hand signals, radio, or other communication methods to coordinate crane movements with ground personnel and other operators.Record Keeping: Maintain records of crane inspections, maintenance, and operational logs to ensure compliance with safety regulations.Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies, such as mechanical failures or safety incidents, and assist with troubleshooting and resolution as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00
