Job Summary The Overhead Lineman Training Instructor is responsible for supporting the design, development, and execution of a specialized training program in Central TX. This position works with exiting servicemembers. This position will have vast knowledge and experience within the electrical distribution industry. Experience and knowledge will include construction and maintenance methods for performing all aspects of hands-on work. This position will be training personnel within Central Texas. Responsibilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Conceive new learning activities and course content that is intended to engage military servicemembers during 13 weekly programs. Utilize various media and learning methods to develop and revise training programs. Class A Journeyman Lineman. Knowledge of electric utility construction standards, and the National Electric Safety Code. Field experience in or closely related to the training to be delivered. Strong computer skills, including knowledge of visual design tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams) Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 8-hour Day shift; Monday through Friday. Qualifications Prior experience as a Lead Lineman, Foreman, or other supervisory role is desirable. Preferred locations to central Texas reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work OSHA Outreach Training Instructor (Construction). Current certifications or in pursuit of any of the following certifications: (1) Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) or (2) Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP). Knowledge in accident investigation following root cause analysis principles. CDL A preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
