Developmental Disabilities Institute, DDI, is one of the largest providers of care to children and adults with Autism, developmental disabilities and other special needs. DDI has been a part of Long Island for over 50 years serving over 1,500 children and adults with Autism, other developmental disabilities and special needs. DDI provides innovative and expansive services to our population through various educational settings, residential services, day habilitation programs and vocational services.
Salary: $20.71 to $24.85
Responsibilities: Works a varied full-time schedule including weekday and weekend nights and is on call for overnight emergencies. Ensures safety of all individuals by assuring established security systems and safety protocols are implemented and followed by overnight staff. Ensures minimum supervision requirements for all residences on all overnight shifts. Works directly with individuals when needed. § Supervises overnight staff in each of our residences to ensure all assignments are completed on every overnight shift. Completes progressive discipline and performance evaluations for all overnight staff along with residence managers. Trains overnight staff on the overnight programs of all individuals, DDI policies and procedures and residence-specific guidelines. Ensures all documentation for individual’s programs, protocols or supervision documentation requirements is completed by overnight staff for all residences. Monitors completion of overnight documentation by staff. Ensures all incident reports, medical documentation and employee related documentation is completed by overnight staff for all incidences. Ensures emergency procedures are appropriately followed and documented Implements Fire Evacuation Procedures as needed. Participate in staff meetings and in-services – as required by the Director. Maintains Individual Log for each site. Completes all necessary paperwork.Qualifications: H.S. Diploma required, college preferred Ability to supervise others (Prior supervisory experience is preferred) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills At least one year’s direct care experience in the developmental disabilities field Approved DDI driver status AMAP certification within 3 months Drug Evaluator Certification within 3 months
