Overnight Veterinary Technician Emergency

VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center is seeking an experienced fulltime Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician to work three 12 hour shifts for our busy and growing 24 hour emergency department. We are a fast paced 24 hour emergency and specialty hospital located in Norwalk, CT. 

Schedule: Thursday - Saturday, 8pm - 8am

We are passionate about the training, growth and development of our associates. With multiple specialty departments available you will have the opportunity to learn from the best!  Our hospital supports services including ER/ICU, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology and Cardiology. 

At VREC Norwalk we value our team and support the full skill utilization of our veterinary technicians.  Each of our specialty departments utilizes advanced technology to provide state-of-the-art diagnostics and advanced treatments and therapies to care for patients.  Such as onsite CT and x-ray, ultrasonography, echocardiography, ECG, telemetry and oxygen therapy.  We have the caseload to support your goals as well as the experience and mentors on site to assist you in achieving them.

ER Veterinary Technician Responsibilities:

Anesthesia procedural monitoringFull Technician Skill UtilizationCollecting patient histories & physical examsMedication refills, and Pet parent communicationProficient in medical calculationsVenipuncture / IVC placementHands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital servicesProviding compassionate care for all patients

Compensation: $ 25 - 36 / hour dependent on experience, skill set, and licensure status. (CVT, VTS) *$1 weekend differential available 6pm Friday thru 6am Monday**
