CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a P&C Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing – Electric Transmission & Substations Team at our office in Reading, PA.

Whether it's AC or DC, overhead or underground, submarine, or indoor/outdoor installations, we cover it all. Our expertise extends to various insulation mediums, including air, gas, liquid, or solid, catering to transmission, distribution, and generation needs. We seamlessly handle AC/DC conversion across diverse applications, from traditional fossil fuels to cutting-edge renewable energy projects, and our proficiency extends to working with electrical-mechanical systems, seamlessly transitioning from legacy to intelligent protection and control systems. Our recognition in the industry is a testament to our prowess in automation, SCADA, communication design, and engineering.

 

Working alongside CHA’s professional engineers, the P&C Engineer supports the development of substation relaying and metering diagrams (AC schematic diagrams) and DC schematic;  protection and control panel layouts, wiring diagrams and cable schedules; preparation of specifications and Bill of Materials for Protection/Control/Metering/RTU/Communication panels; and development of schematic diagram for SCADA and Communication interfaces including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.

  

The P&C Engineer identifies technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections. The professional in this role develops and maintains a familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the firm’s and client’s practices, procedures, and standards.

REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Power Systems Engineering is requiredEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification requiredMinimum of 2 years of related Engineering experience requiredStrong knowledge of engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering fieldDemonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering disciplineFamiliar with QA/QC proceduresEffective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staffProficiency with Microsoft Office software required SALARY RANGE:

$75,000 - $88,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
