P/T Hospitality Assistant FMI TX (# 3663)
The Hospitality Assistant position exists to provide stewardship for all aspects of serving couples through food service and housekeeping. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Food Service: + Prepares meals from predetermined menus for intensives, retreats, and special events + Serves, interacts, and is sensitive to the needs of the couples and guests + Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and dining area, daily + Observes and follows all Health Department Codes + Attends and maintains Chemical Training Housekeeping: + Maintains the cleanliness of Guest Cabins; general cleaning of bedroom, bathroom, sitting area, and outside sitting area + Maintains the cleanliness of all guest and staff spaces throughout the property, including main hospitality center, administrative offices, counseling rooms, bathrooms, and chapel. General cleaning includes but is not limited to dusting furniture, vacuuming, and mopping floors, cleaning windows, stocking amenities, and laundering and placing kitchen, bath, and bed linens + Is sensitive to know when areas are off limits for cleaning due to noise + Does laundry as needed Other Duties/Responsibilities: + Performs other duties as required Working Environment/Physical Requirements: + Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam + Must be able to lift up to 40lbs + Must be able to push/pull up to 25lbs + Must be able to bend and reach above head + Requires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity + Frequently requires bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching + Some exposure to gases, odors, fumes, cleaning chemicals, bodily waste, dust, and sharp utensils + Occasional holiday and weekend work is required JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Character/Spiritual: Exemplifies Ephesians 5:1-2, “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us...” Pursues the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Focus; adheres to the Standard of Moral Conduct (http://media.focusonthefamily.com/fotf/pdf/about-us/human-resources/moral-policy.pdf) and Statement of Faith (http://www.focusonthefamily.com/about/foundational-values#values) ; upholds Focus on the Family's ministry in prayer Prays personally for Focus on the Family’s staff and constituents and may occasionally lead in a public prayer Engages in Christian ministry Demonstrates behaviors aligned with FOF core values (http://www.focusonthefamily.com/about/foundational-values#values) Knowledge/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent 1-3 years of experience in food service preparation Must achieve and maintain Serve Safe Certification and Chemical Training Certification Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts: + Strong customer service and people skills + Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions + Flexible in adjusting priorities + Ability to work independently with very little immediate supervision + Ability to work with various food preparation machines and equipment, sharp knives, and various chemicals Pay Range: $15.00 to $17.00/hr Application Materials Required: Cover Letter, Resume/CV Application Materials Instructions: Please identify the job specific minimum qualifications you possess in your cover letter and be sure your resume includes any and all relevant experience to be accurately assessed against the qualifications listed in the posting.
